The Legacy Of Robert Kraft

Robert Kraft has been making an impact on the world of sports and entertainment for several decades. Most known for being the owner of the New England Patriots, Kraft has an extensive resume that includes several different areas.

Kraft is the owner of Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution and the NFL’s Gillette Stadium. His portfolio includes work in real-estate, packaging, entertainment and of course sports.

Robert Kraft got his start in the business world in the early 1970’s. One of his first jobs was working with the packing company Rand-Whitney Group. This experience eventually led Kraft to start his own company International Forest Products. This company was a trader of physical paper commodities and eventually would become one of the most successful companies in the country. Over the next several years Kraft would invest in several other companies to include a number of Boston radio stations. All of this would lead to his biggest purchase- The New England Patriots.

Kraft’s love for the Patriots is a live long experience. He attended games as a season ticket holder beginning in the early 70’s. Robert Kraft would eventually purchase an option on the parcel adjacent to the teams stadium. This would be the first of many steps that would lead to him paying $175 million dollars to purchase the team. The move was a surprising one at the time given the teams record. It would soon become obvious that Kraft knew what he was doing. The Patriots have become one of the most successful teams in NFL history. Under Kraft they have been to ten AFC title games and seven Super Bowls.
