Is Zaxby’s Americas Fastest Growing Restaurant

It’s no secret that the fast-food segment of restaurants has gone through an upheaval recently. Franchisees have complained that profits have gone down, and costs have gone up.

However, when it rains, so to speak, it also means opportunity, and one fast food chain by the name of Zaxby’s, with approximately 900 restaurants, approximately 12,000 fewer restaurants than America’s largest hamburger chain, is currently making waves.

Commonly called Zak’s by the locals, both for some of the menu item names and because Americans everywhere have a tendency to abbreviate whenever possible, the chain is primarily in the southern part of the U.S., which is why you may never have heard of it.

So what is Zaxby’s secret weapon?

Three things:

  1. a) Specialization: They specialize in chicken, primarily chicken wings, both bone-in and bone-out.
  2. b) Secondly, they are known for high-quality ingredients. While some fast-food chains have reduced the quality of their food, Zaxby’s has consistently maintained quality.
  3. c) Finally, Zak’s has a secret weapon that has seen profits and steady growth, and that is it has a fantastic rewards program through its app.

Zaxby’s, last year made a determined effort to simply its rewards program through its app, and the results have far exceeded expectations.

According to QSR Magazine, in 2022, Zak’s had a 317 percent growth in the number of people who downloaded their rewards app, which is 145 percent more than the second-place chain in terms of app growth, and far above the average rate of growth overall in the fast-food industry.

As Zaxby’s only offers a free Zak Snak Meal for downloading the app, something almost every other fast-food chain offers, Zak’s management perceives their superior app growth as a definite sign that they are on the right track in the fast-food industry.

People seem to want quality in their fast food, and Zak’s is delivering.
