SumZero Leader Greg Aziz

Serial entrepreneur Greg Aziz is the CEO of SumZero Ltd. In this opinion piece, Aziz insists on a change to address climate change. He argues that we need to invest in clean cars and infrastructure. With this new change, the moves will “deliver the largest reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from transportation ever made.”

He also says that moving forward with this policy will “re-energize America’s manufacturing,” increasing American jobs. The US Administration has released a plan for the United States to transition towards a clean energy future. For Greg Aziz, the transition plan has been approved by President Biden, who has directed a wide-ranging portfolio of federal agencies to implement the plan to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector.

This plan is in line with Aziz’s argument for a change to address climate change. The U.S. Department of Transportation has collaborated with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Energy Department as well as numerous other federal agencies to take a comprehensive approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation sources. Greg Aziz informs that this plan is set to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 6 billion metric tons through the year 2050 and will provide the largest reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from transportation ever made by the United States.

The plan will use the following three actions to decarbonize rail:

  1. Infrastructure investments

He informs how this move is aimed to invest in electric locomotives, new high-speed intercity rail, and high-speed rail to provide clean transportation. For Greg Aziz, this is to move the US towards a clean energy future by providing a means of transportation that will be more efficient than fossil fuels.

  1. Multi-stakeholder collaborations

Greg Aziz also explains this concern. By implementing this plan, the United States will also collaborate with other joint stakeholder organizations to enable all sectors to be able to come together and help promote innovation of clean energy technologies.

  1. Research and innovation

There´s more on the implementation of clean energy. By using the funding from the Department of Transportation, the United States will assist with research and innovation to develop clean transportation technologies. Through his philanthropic efforts, Greg Aziz has demonstrated a commitment to helping those in need and positively impacting the community.
