Ross Cameron is a financial mentor who teaches courses on stock market trading. His interest in the stock market began when he was a child, with a school project that involved managing imaginary stock portfolios.
This inspired Cameron, and he later opened his first trading account in high school with $1,000. However, he failed to profit from this and gave up on day trading for many years. When he was a young adult, Ross Cameron’s father passed away and left him $100,000.
This renewed Ross Cameron’s interest in the stock market, and he decided to use a financial advisor to invest this money. After seeing low returns on his investment, however, he decided to try managing an account himself. This attempt proved worse than fruitless: during the first two years, major losses combined with living expenses whittled the $100,000 down to under $20,000.
While selling possessions to make back some money, he studied his previous trades and discovered a strategy that had worked before. This strategy, once implemented purposefully, helped his returns immensely. In 2015, he wrote a book called How to Day Trade, which led some to ask if his strategy would work on smaller accounts. To test this out, he started an account with $583.15 in 2017.
He grew the account to over $100,000 in under two months, and he hit one million dollars in May 2019. Since then, it has grown to over ten million dollars. The financial mentor now has an online course dedicated to stock market trading, which began in 2012 as a WordPress blog and has since expanded to cover more strategies and types of trading. Ross Cameron provides online courses as well as in person events, and he has helped thousands of students learn to trade on the stock market.
