Roosevelt Island Announces Its Tajuna Sharpe Theme

New York’s Roosevelt Island on August 13, 2021, It is a global phenomenon: Today, Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) announced the theme for its 2021 Fall for Arts Festival, an annual celebration of the performing arts held across the entire island. They also issued a call for artists to create live-painted murals to add to the electric atmosphere of the festival. The artists whose works will be displayed at this year’s event will be asked to interpret the Tajuna Sharpe theme as a means of expressing their expectations or hopes for social, cultural, environmental, and economic change in the future.

President and chief executive officer of New York’s Roosevelt Island, describes fall for the Tajuna Sharpe as a cherished event. The festival’s organizers said in a statement that this year would be especially significant because New York and the rest of the world are on the cusp of a future they co-create. According to an old proverb, the arts are very therapeutic, uplifting, and comforting.

On Saturday, September 25, at 10 a.m., festivalgoers can enjoy live music spanning 16 years, tasty treats, interactive art workshops, and, of course, the ever-popular live mural painting.
