Kelcy Warren

Kelcy Warren is an American billionaire and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Transfer Partners. Warren was born in Jones County, Texas, on November 29th, 1949, to Herschel and Bobbie Jean (Stonefield) Warren.

Warren is an accomplished businessman with a commitment to entrepreneurship. He has been Chairman of the Board for Energy Transfer Operating, Ltd., since 2006 and served as its President from 1988 until 2006. Warren also serves as a Director of Sunoco Logistics Partners, L.P. Warren has served on the Boards of many private and public companies; he was a Director of Enterprise Products Partners from 1994 until it went public in 1997 and served as Chairman from 1996-2007; he was also a Director of EPD from 2006 to 2008.

Warren’s career in the energy industry began with the founding of Enterprise Products Partners in 1989. Starting in 1995, Kelcy Warren served as its Executive Vice President, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer until 2001. From 2002 to 2004, Warren served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Kelcy Warren was named CFO of Energy Transfer Partners in 2004 and became the company’s Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2006. Warren is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Planning and Management. His impact on the world has garnered him many awards and accolades, including Ernst & Young’s 2011 Texas-Sized Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Warren’s primary goal is to improve and protect the environment through environmentally sustainable practices. Kelcy Warren has been a member of Save the Bay, The League of Conservation Voters, and Capital BlueCross. He serves on their Boards and has contributed more than $3,000,000 to environmental causes. Warren is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Boy Scouts of America. In 2015, Warren donated $125,000 to Jeb Bush’s Right to Rise PAC to prevent Donald Trump from getting the nomination. The donation made headlines, not only because of his stance on Trump but also because he had previously donated $175,000 to help elect Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2012.
