Happy Joe’s is just a small family-owned coffee and ice cream shop in the suburbs of Denver, CO. The name comes from a fellow coffee shop employee who was always smiling and happy, no matter what happened around him. He would end up with a broken jaw during an altercation one morning — but he just smiled as his assailant said something like “I’m sorry” or “Hey man, I didn’t mean to do that!”
He was so cheerful people started calling him Happy Joe; the owner of the coffee shop got the idea to name their store after this guy. They offer coffee and ice cream, with many different flavors of coffee. They also sell organic coffee beans and other related items.
Gumballs and (ice)cream
Happy Joe’s is a place where people can have fun while getting their daily dose of caffeine; they have many machines that let you make various flavored drinks. I especially like the one where you put a gumball or ice cream inside the machine to make your drink. Happy Joe’s pizza parlor has many different kinds of ice cream for you to buy.
You can also get sundaes and milkshakes with whatever flavors you’d like. They offer free Wi-Fi for customers, so you can use your laptop or other devices to surf the web while enjoying ice cream or coffee. At Happy Joe´s, you might even see people from around the area hanging out in this place after work or school.
I love getting the Deluxe Sundae with hot fudge on top. It’s not healthy, but it sure tastes good! I also like getting iced coffee in the winter (they don’t have hot coffee).
I was so excited when I decided to try this place out, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I went in, I was nervous that it would be loud and crowded. But it wasn’t. And the staff were friendly and very helpful. The owners at Happy Joe´s are regulars at the store, so they welcome you with open arms! The ice cream is good too!
We have come here at least five times since we moved to Denver to find an ice cream place where the owner is always there and makes you feel welcome when you walk in.
