Their interior features all-natural wood from local forests, and their walls are painted with native American art. Initially opened with an espresso machine and a small sandwich menu, the pizza parlor has grown to include bagel and breakfast hours and a daily happy hour. Their food at Happy Joe’s pizza and ice cream parlor is made fresh, including freshly roasted coffee beans and dairy used in their cheese-based items. 
Happy Joe’s American Pizza Parlor is located in the heart of Old Town, next to Powell’s Books. They are open twenty-four hours daily, so they are always an excellent spot to stop after an evening of entertainment downtown. In 2006, Chef Hanna Schroeder won a James Beard Award for contributing to “The Portland Monthly” restaurant guide.
