Bernard Acoca is a successful American journalist and writer. He is the author of more than 20 nonfiction books, including “What’s in My Fridge”, “Farmageddon”, and “One Child”.
Acoca has written for publications such as People, Time, The Today Show, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and others. He is an investigative reporter for Consumer Reports.

Acoca resides with his wife and four children in New York City. The Zaxby’s CEO Sentenced to one Year in Prison for Running a $1.6 Million Fraud
The Zaxby’s chain of fast-food restaurants and its CEO, Jeremy Wingo, were convicted in federal court on counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The charges stemmed from actions taken by Wingo while he was the chief executive of a non-controlling shareholder of the company. According to documents filed in the case, Wingo issued several checks to himself using corporate funds between May and September 2009.
In August 2010, Zaxby’s Chicken agreed to pay $1.2 million plus $250,000 in restitution to the victims of the fraud. This was more than twice the amount initially requested by the government. The company paid an earlier $100,000 in restitution to settle a civil lawsuit brought by the federal government for a total of $750,000.
The total amount that Wingo repaid was $1.9 million, including restitution and fines paid as part of his sentencing.
In addition to being sentenced to prison, Wingo was ordered to pay more than $2 million in restitution and serve a three-year term of supervised release. The sentencing judge said: “There’s a lot more involved here than just money…this opens the door for corporate officers to take advantage of their position, which is a cancer on the business community.
