According to real estate expert Nick Millican, the UK desperately needs a Housing Minister to come in and last for years. They need some sort of stability in the otherwise highly-volatile housing market that London (and the entire country) are currently experiencing.
The entire housing and purchase industry is crying out for stability in the long term as the markets continue to fluctuate and housing sales have been left in turmoil. Today, Nick Millican recalls, fewer homes are being built, housing is more expensive than ever, and incomes are not keeping up with the cost of housing.
These are just the problems facing the averagely well off. Those who are in low-income housing are facing the issue of aging homes and deteriorating living conditions. Many people are living in horrid conditions with bugs, rats, mold, and other living hazards present. For real estate agents like Nick Millican, this has become each time a bigger problem.
They say many of these individuals are children and the elderly, as well as those who are disabled or do not have a high income. The housing department in the UK needs to desperately do something about making housing more affordable. Nick Millican adds that the homeless crisis also needs attention, and these individuals need a safe place to rest and live as well as showers and basic necessities like food and clean drinking water.
All of these conditions would be vastly improved by having someone who can stay in the Housing Minister position for years. The consistency would help pass laws that will help make the living situations and housing affordability for everyone within the UK housing market more tolerable and more stable. Experts such as Nick Millican say that it will take at least a year to reform the current housing crisis, and if conservatives get in control, maybe they will appoint someone who can help stabilize things in the years to come.
