Amy’s Kitchen is a leading US vegetarian and organic food producer and distributor. In addition to making the foods in their restaurants, they sell frozen and canned versions to ensure they cater to all their clients.
It was founded in 1987 by Rachel and Andy Berliner. They needed prepared food when Rachel was on bed rest because of a complicated pregnancy. However, their local natural grocery store had no ready-made organic or vegetarian food matching their preferences.
They launched the restaurant and named it after their daughter, Amy. Their first dish was a pot pie made using Rachael’s mother’s recipe. The first people helping them in the restaurant were their family members, but now they have over 2,600 employees in over 23 countries and 43,000 stores.
In addition to offering the best services and high-quality food, Amy’s Kitchen is dedicated to improving the local community and preserving the environment. Therefore, after outgrowing their initial local farms, the Berliners have looked for bigger local farms where they grow their ingredients organically.
One of the things that has helped Amy’s Kitchen grow and expand so much is their wide range of foods. They have over 135 packaged and frozen foods, and clients can find gluten, corn, dairy, lactose, soy, and tree nut-free varieties. They also have light in sodium, Kosher D, and Kosher DE categories.
They also introduced new foods to their offerings this summer. According to Paul Schiefer, the president, the brand is dedicated to meeting all its clients’ needs. Therefore, among the new foods are burrito multi-packs and six family-pack items featuring the bestselling Chinese noodles, vegetable lasagna, poblano enchiladas, broccoli cheddar bake, and cheese enchiladas.
According to Schiefer, these new products will help families struggling with stress because of increasing food costs and inflation. They are also big enough to feed entire families and easy to prepare, making them excellent choices for lunch or dinner.
Another factor that has contributed to the brand’s growth is the executive team, which they recently expanded because of their increasing number of employees. They added Oksana Woloszczuk as the chief supply chain officer, Steve Kravariotis as the supply chain planning VP, David Griego as the engineering senior director, and Goretti Hamlin as the human resource VP.
