Alliance Defending Freedom is the largest legal firm in the world. It is devoted to protecting free speech, parental rights, religious freedom, and the sanctity of life among others. The firm was launched by Christian Community leaders in 1994, as Alliance Defense Fund. Despite having most of its clients as Christians, the firm also defends the rights of Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jews, Mormons, and those of no religion.
Alliance Defending Freedom has also worked out of the United States to fight against genocide among different religious groups.
Religious Freedom
Alliance Defending Freedom believes that religious freedom must be proffer to both individuals of no and of faith. This means that each person has the right to practice their religion and seek answers to life’s puzzling questions without interference from the government. It’s ingrained in the constitutional proposition and human dignity that the state should have meagre power over its citizens.
Over the past years, the United States’ religious freedom cases were mainly focused on protecting a given minority religious belief. However, these days, the government has started ratifying areas that infringe on the core doctrines of the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic faith.
Free Speech
Alliance Defending Freedom also seek to ensure that students in public universities and colleges have the right to express their ideas. With this, the ADF’s Centers for Academic Freedom has annexed approximately 400 victories in support of students’ free speech rights.
Parental Rights
In addition, ADF strives to protect the rights of parents to make decisions about their children’s well-being and upbringing, including their health.
International Work
ADF is known around the world for its work protecting Christians and other minority groups and advocating for free speech. ADF International has gained recognition from groups like the European Parliament and Commission, the UN Economic and Social Council, and the Organization of American States.
