Kelcy Warren, a Houston-based businessman, and investor, he co-founded Energy Transfer Partners. He has been involved with oil and pipeline companies for over 30 years.
He has also served as the chairman of ETP, a global company that designs, owns, explores for, transports, and markets crude oil and natural gas. Mr. Warren was born on December 15th, 1951, in Evansville, Indiana but moved to Texas at age 5, where he grew up on a ranch near Kenedy County. He began his career at Entergy Corporation around 1973, up to Vice President of Public Affairs by 1978.
In 1990 Kelcy Warren became the President & COO of Kinder Morgan, which owns many different pipelines and refineries worldwide. During his time with Kinder Morgan, he was able to take millions of gallons a day more, making it one of the largest oil and gas companies in America; soon after he bought out his former employer, Entergy Corporation merged with Austin Company Silex Gas to become a large energy company known as Entergy-Austin Company.
Kelcy Warren has donated to several political candidates, including George W Bush and John McCain, who benefited from his generous donations. Mr. Warren had also invested heavily in the petrochemical industry, having made a significant monetary investment in 2007 when he bought out the Pasadena Refining Company.
Kelcy Warren is a former executive for several companies and is now the co-owner of Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), an oil pipeline company based in Dallas, Texas, that owns many different pipelines all over North America that transports several different kinds of oil or natural gas. The company was founded in 2004 by Kelcy Warren and his partner James Henry Kinder Morgan; this partnership would later be renamed Energy Transfer Partners (ETP).
