Jason Hope Launches The New Zealand Analytics Camp

Jason Hope is an American author, speaker, and technologist. He is the founder of several successful companies, including: Ark Innovation LLC., JHLaw.com and Mohr Davidow Ventures LLC. Jason is also a sought-after public speaker who has presented his work to audiences around the world at prestigious events like TEDx Auckland 2013.

 

He has also been present at TEDx Global Human 2012 and TEDxAmsterdam 2010.

His latest book project was published in December 2014 with Palgrave Macmillan as co-author “The Infographic Workbook” with Matt Cooper (executive editor) 

and Daniel Chia (designer). Activist investor Jason Hope was born in Houston, Texas in 1976 and grew up at the foot of the Himalayas mountain range. 

 

He is the second son of a pioneering computer entrepreneur, James Hope. After moving from Nepal to New Zealand at age 6, Jason attended Nelson College from 1991-1994 where he received his high school diploma. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Politics at the University of Otago and a Master’s degree in International Relations at The Johns Hopkins University (SAIS). At SAIS, Jason Hope authored “Technology, Trade, and Cold War Tensions”.

This examined how technological innovation played a critical role in shaping global tensions during the Cold War. He has lived in Spain, Italy and Oman, where he was a human rights observer during the historic 2003 elections that led to the end of Sultan Qaboos’ reign. After moving back to Washington, DC in 2003 and working for a small consultancy firm for three years, Jason Hope founded Ark Innovation LLC to provide legal advice and technology consulting services to venture capital funds and startups. 

 

Activist investor Jason Hope served as General Counsel of Ark until 2009 when he left his role at Ark Innovation. In January 2010, Jason founded JHLaw.com which provides a cloud-based solution for law firms allowing them to simplify their legal matters. In December 2013, Jason founded Mohr Davidow Ventures LLC which is a global advisory firm that assists entrepreneurs and venture capital companies (Medium). 

In March 2014, Jason was selected as a finalist in the national NextGen Art competition run by the National Museum of American History. He is also the founder of the New Zealand Analytics Camp, which aids students to have access to free data science education. The New Zealand Analytics Camp is held annually at the University of Otago. In 2008, Jason Hope´s first book project “The Infographic Workbook” was released with Palgrave Macmillan as co-author (editor for print) and Daniel Chia (designer).
