The internet continues to change not just how people stay up on current events and seek out entertainment, but also how marketing companies are reaching new customers and learning about what the consumer market is currently seeking. This makes PodcastOne an ideal candidate to host advertisements for products that are seeking to get ahead of the curve in their particular niche. To learn just how much of a difference an online presence has, Executive Chairman Norman Pattiz sought the assistance o Edison Research to track five major brands and see just how effective their promotional efforts had been on his network.
Edison Research tracked these brands through their 2016 campaigns, and bookended that monitoring with surveys of listeners before the campaigns aired and then they concluded. Edison found that upwards of 60% of listeners of PodcastOne were able to more readily identify grocery brands after the ads ran, which is a 7% increase from similar tracking in 2015.
Other brands tracked included lawn and garden services, automobile products, and financial services, and their level of awareness among listeners rose by 24%, 37%, and 47% respectively.
In addition to brands becoming more recognizable with listeners of PodcastOne, Edison Research also found that positive views of these products and services were as high as 18% over their rating in the previous year. This also meant that listeners were more likely to become first-time customers for these brands as well.
Norman Pattiz announced the results of the Edison Research survey in a public statement. Pattiz went on to stay that PodcastOne had been confident of their reach when it came to bringing new information to listeners, the research was there to simply verify this belief with concrete numbers that could compare against traditional media outlets. Pattiz hopes that the information made available from this research will give brands a new perspective on what make a viable outlet for advertising in the future.
